Germans are deeply interested in international affairs and knowing what the rest of the world thinks about them, their country and their society. In the world of television and radio, this curiosity has given rise to a number of news and commentary formats in which foreign journalists are invited to share their views on current events, US politics and Germany’s role in the world. For years, I have been a regular guest on such shows and enjoy the opportunity to exchange views with colleagues in such a public forum. There is always something new to learn about Germany and the Germans from the questions they ask and, I hope, I help them see America in a new way.
